ESI Astronomical Spectroscopy

The following is an on-going Elektron Systems internally funded project:

ESI's founder has been a long time amateur astronomer and as such he has gradually upgraded his astronomy equipment over many years. The main interest areas have been seeking out observing objects manually, without the use of go-to or push-to aids. For this reason his equatorially mounted C8 telescope has only RA and DEC drive motors without computer control. More reciently his interest has included astrophotography, as an adjunct to visual observing. So a flip mirror was added to the C8 to allow visual observing and then flipping the mirror to take imagery of the observed objects. Usually one or a few long exposure images are shot to provided increased detail of the object. These images are not post processed.

The latest interest swing has been spectroscopy of stars.
